TINY WARRIORS MIGHTY FANDOM

It’s been a little over 5 months since our interview with Gisela @kcgisela. If you haven’t read the first interview, check it out before continuing. The evolution of her Warrior Nun 3D Sculptures has been a fun journey to watch. She graciously agreed to a follow-up interview and in depth look at her Warrior Nun Tiny Warriors.

OCS: Can you talk about the evolution over the last 6 months?

Working with 3D sculpting is like embarking on a never-ending journey of constant growth and improvement. The more you practice and push your creative boundaries, the better you become.

For me, creating the Warrior Nun sculptures has been an incredible learning experience and a significant milestone in my sculpting journey. These sculptures are intricate and complex, with lots of details that definitely challenged me at the time (For example Beatrice Headpiece). With every sculpture I created I could see improvements in my work and I know that the more I work on these figures the better I’ll get.

OCS: Were you overwhelmed by the fandom’s excitement in every new reveal?

I find myself constantly overwhelmed by the incredible response from the fandom. You see, for most of my 3D career, I worked mainly with studios or took private commissions, these projects often came with strict embargoes, meaning the I couldn’t share my work with the public until they were officially released. As a result, I never had the opportunity to experience the wide-reaching response to my work, so to witness how everyone’s in the fandom responded to the figures I’ve made has been nothing short of heartwarming. The outpouring of support, the messages of appreciations and sheer enthusiasm from fellow fans have been truly overwhelming.

OCS: How many 3D statues have you sold?

I must confess that I might be the most disorganized person in history when it comes to data. Recently someone asked me specific numbers, and I have been on a mission to gather all that information. (its like going on a treasure hunt through my own digital chaos!). I promise once I’ve collected all the data, I’ll get back to you.

OCS: How many countries have you shipped to?

I have shipped to many countries around the world. Some places like France, Germany, the Czech Republic, Malta, Taiwan, Brazil, USA, Canada… I’m sure there are more, I just can recall more at the moment.

ocs: Most popular statue?

Without doubt, my most popular figure has to be Beatrice. I mean who can resist Beatrice right?

ocs: What inspired you to try the tiny 3D figures?

The decision to embark on the Tiny Warriors project was actually born out of requests from fellow fans who were looking for smaller figures. So, in my head I thought: If I’m going to create smaller figures, why not make them absolutely adorable while am at it? It was a bit of a departure from my usual sculpting style, as I typically don’t work on these kinds of projects.
I must say, during the initial process I had the chance to consult some fellow colleagues who helped me with their insights, tips and guidance that were invaluable in shaping the Tiny Warriors collection.

OCS: How long does it take you to design the new tiny figures?

It varies, but I would say, on average, it takes anywhere from 3 to 5 days, depending on how busy my schedule is at the time.

ocs: Printing time for the tiny figures?

With my current printers I can print for example 8 Tiny Beatrice figures at once in about 5 hours. Although some Tiny Warrior take a bit longer, for example the Tarak takes almost 7 hours and I can only print 3 at once.

ocs: How do you make the boxes?

I wanted the boxes to not just be a functional “container” but also be part of the overall collectible experience. A while back I had the opportunity to work on box designs for previous projects and decided to adapt the same templates for the Tiny Warriors.

For those interested in the design process, I’ve put together a guide that walks you through the entire journey of creating these boxes and I’ll be sharing it right here for you all to enjoy and maybe even find some inspirations to create your own collection.

ocs: What inspired you to make a tiny Simon?

Like so many others, I believe Warrior Nun wouldn’t be the same without Simon’s work. His creative vision, alongside the talented writers and producers, has given life to something that has brought immense joy to so many fans, Including myself. It’s hard to imagine Warrior Nun Without Simon.
With the Tiny Simon, I wanted to pay tribute to his work. To me, it only felt right to include him so we can appreciate and celebrate his work – it’s a nod to the impact he’s had on the Warrior Nun Fando, and a heartfelt way of expressing my gratitude for the stories and characters he’s brought into our lives.

ocs: Will you list the tiny warriors for people to buy?

Now that all the Tiny Warriors are completed, I’m excited to announce that I’ll be listing them in the upcoming weeks. To ensure that I have sufficient stock available for everyone who’s interested, I’m planning on opening a whilst soon. This will give me a better idea of the demand for these figures and help me prioritize production accordingly.

OCS: Future plans?

I have plans to expand the Tiny Warrior Collection. I have some exciting character ideas in the works, but I’m going to keep the details under wraps for now so it can be a surprise.

However, I want you all to know that your input and suggestions are always welcome, so if you have a character in mind that you’d love to see as part of the Tiny Warriors lineup, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me. Together we’ll continue to bring more beloved characters into the world of Tiny Warrior for everyone to enjoy.

OCS Any message you would like to send to the fandom?

My message to the Warrior Nun fandom is to remain hopeful. I understand that these are uncertain times and it might feel like we are adrift in an endless sea of uncertainty. But I want to remind you to remain hopeful.

Many members of the crew and directors have shown their desire to be part of this project, so now, more than ever, we need to show the world the reason we fought so hard for this show. It’s important to remember the incredible moments we’ve shared, the friendships we’ve forged, and the remarkable achievements we’ve accomplished during this campaign.
We must continue to raise our voices, to be loud and passionate in our support, and show everyone why we’re fighting so fervently. We are fighting for OUR Warrior Nun, the one that brought us much happiness to our lives.
I believe that our collective light, our lighthouse, will begin to shine once more.

So let’s stay united and continue to fight, now more than ever. Together, we can whether any storm and ensure that the spirit of Warrior Nun lives on. Let’s enjoy every moment and everyone in the fandom.
